Anup Baral Theatre/ Film Director/ Actor

Anup Baral is a renowned theatre director, actor, and conceptual artist. He has a Master’s degree in Acting from India’s National School of Drama. Baral has directed and conceptualized more than four dozen plays as well as acted in numerous productions in his three decade-long careers. He is known as a visual poet and experimental director who brings multi-disciplinary approaches to theatre and through live performance, visual art, and digital media. Baral’s theatre pieces, performances, and installations explore such themes as urban conflict, body politics, migration, and marginalization, and many more. His directorial ventures Malami, Jaat Sodhnu Jogiko, Kathadesh, Talak Jung vs Tulke, Kafka Ek Adhyayan, Court Martial and Thirty Days in September, Death of a salesman. He was chosen as one of five Asian directors (from Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka) to direct the play Memories of Legend, which was organised by the Japan Foundation.Baral was awarded the Rashtriya Pratibha Puraskar in 1999 and the Balkrishna Sama Award in 2013 for his contribution to Nepali Theatre. He won the national Best Actor award for Dashdhunga. He has worked as a casting director and acting coach in numerous films and directed two films to his credit. He has been running Actor’s Studio as an artistic director since its inception in 2006 and teaches acting to aspiring actors across the country.
Dipendra Bhandari Documentary Filmmaker/Travel Writer

Dipendra Bhandari is an award-winning documentary filmmaker and travel writer. He served as the Director, Writer, and Producer for the multi-award-winning documentary feature, ‘Journey to Yarsa,’ which has screened in over 35 countries and has garnered more than 15 international awards. Bhandari was the Co-producer and Director of Photography (DOP) for the award-winning documentary film ‘Talking to The Air.’ Over the last 25 years, he has directed, written, and produced documentary and travel series aired on national and international channels, including Nepal TV, Kantipur TV, and History channels. He has created films for development and humanitarian organizations, including UNICEF, ILO, the World Bank Group, the Asian Development Bank, USAID, and the European Union. He was previously the executive producer for Adventure Nepal Production, a Kathmandu-based production company. Currently, he is working on ‘The Last Lift,’ a documentary film inspired by the true story of the U.S. Marine helicopter that crashed on May 12, 2015, in Nepal during the rescue mission after the devastating earthquake on April 25, 2015.

Film editor, PHD student in PWSFTviT. In 2019 she finished Master Degree in Arts (Film Editing) from Polish National Film School in lodz. She took part in international exchange with academic internship in FAMU, Prague. Now, she works on her academical skils under PWSFTviT Rector guidence Milenia Fiedler. Freelancer, editor of short fiction forms, specialising in animated film edit. Animations edited by her were shown and won awards at many prestigous film festivals around the world, like: Doc Leipzig, Annecy Internationa Animation Festival, Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film, Animafest Zagreb, Paris International Animation Film Festival, Festiwal Polskich Filmów Fabularnych, MMF New Horizons, Krakow Film Festival, Warsaw Film Festival, Koszalin Film Debutee Festival “Youth and Film”.

Atul Marewad Writer, Film Critic

Atul Marewad, an accomplished writer, academician, screenwriter, and film critic hailing from Maharashtra, India, currently resides in Pune. Holding a Bachelor’s degree from Rajaram College, Kolhapur, and a Master’s degree from Ferguson College, he serves as a Professor of Literature and is the CEO of Vivek Chitra Production House. Dedicated to scholarly research on world cinema and literature, Marewad is renowned for his insightful film critiques, establishing himself as a knowledgeable voice in the industry. Beyond academia, he plays a pivotal role as the Asia and Middle East Regional Coordinator for the Accra International Book Festival, promoting global literary talents.Marewad, deeply passionate about the future of cinema and literature, is currently pursuing a PhD in the field. Simultaneously, he is immersed in creating his debut novel and feature film. As a respected figure in the film industry, Marewad has served as a jury member for the Kaduna International Film Festival, Baylesha International Film Festival, and various film boards, further solidifying his impact on the cinematic landscape.

Dr. Kapil Adhikari Dean/ Gandaki University

Student Film - Jury

Dr. Kapil Adhikari is the Dean of Faculty of Science and Technology at Gandaki University, Nepal. He is a computational condensed matter physicist and an AI enthusiast. He did his PhD in Physics from University of Texas at Arlington, USA. He has over 4 years of postdoctoral experience in various universities in the USA. He was a visiting scientist at Qatar Foundation, Qatar. He had served as the campus chief of Lakecity College and Research Center, Pokhara. Besides physics, he has done post graduate diploma in Buddhist Studies and passionate about art and literature.
